SUPPER CLUB
La Cura is a regular supper club, where we gather at private homes and unusual locations around the Los Angeles area. Each event is a form of visual expression, a place to transform the ordinary into a feast for the eyes. Supper is served family style, each menu unique and seasonal.
It's the spirit of dining that makes an ordinary meal into an occasion. Founder, Olivia was seeking an environment that support real converation, unhurried enjoyment and a place where we could relax and experience those long, drawn out dinner like she'd had in Europe traveling. Despite her best efforts she couldn't find those opportunities in Los Anegeles–so she created them.
The idea came to her one evening when she had a group of friends around her table. Olivia recognized how special it was to share a homemade meal with guests without the interruprtions of a typical night now. The conversation and the experience is so much more meanginful than a fast-paced restaurant.
There is a particular moment at every supper club, that hour after dinner when the conversation is as good as the food, and everyone is lingering over wine and the last few bites of dessert–that is the precious moment she wanted to capture for every event.
SEPTEMBER SUPPER CLUB
Sweetness of late summer. Smokey mezcal margarita with juicy blackberries, a table strewn with wild flowers. Ripe melon salads and pickled vegetables, lamb skewers and a slowly cooked pan of paella.
DECEMBER SUPPER CLUB
An elegant table with a rustic meal, bitter greens with a creamy parmesan dressing, pan-seared bass with shaved fennel, an earthy mushroom risotto to finish. I scattered persimmons and blush roses down the table. We sipped classic Negroni's & Martinis courtesy of Brooklyn Gin.
